London born and based still life photographer Jody Todd studied photography at the London College of Printing. He took an interest in street photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson particularly admiring the use of Bresson’s compositions and structure in his work.
This influenced Jody’s still life photography, as his work plays on the use of positive and negative space using lighting and arrangements to create balanced coherent images.
Another strong influence in Jody’s work came from Bauhaus Movement with the use of color, shape and shadow to add depth and texture.
